about BLOCK THERAPY

Block Therapy is a therapeutic and lifestyle practice that melts the adhesions that are found in our body's fascia.

Fascia is a connective tissue that keeps us upright and balanced. We have fascia from our head to our toes. Think of your fascia as the skin to your cells in your body. All of our cells are in the fascia. As we fall out of alignment and breathe with our chest muscles (we should be breathing diaphragmatically), we collapse. This collapse causes our bodies to be out of alignment and our cells to become restricted - unable to receive the good, clean oxygen, energy, and blood flow they need in order to function correctly.

In Block Therapy, I teach you how to breathe the correct way and how to use the wooden therapy blocks to melt the pain in your body. Yes, pain. Pain is how your body gets your attention- telling you it needs help. You will become a pain-seeker, leading you to know your body better and what it needs. Pain equals restrictions - which we begin to melt during the block therapy class.

Block Therapy is an excellent practice for:
Scar tissue
Mobility
Tight/tense bodies
Calming your central nervous system
Chronic pain
Supporting youthfulness

Sara Spring, Block Therapy Instructor

In 2021 my life changed in a unique way. I was introduced to a lifestyle technique called Block Therapy in Lake Placid, N.Y. when I asked for a natural approach to my husband's leg injury while visiting the local spa. In asking this question Block Therapy became an integral part of my life.

As I began to implement this practice into my life, my body and mind shifted to a healing energetic. My body was being introduced to better flow, heat, and alignment. My depression and anxiety decreased, my hands and feet, typically cold all winter long, began to have sustained warmth. Migraine headaches decreased and my breathing and posture became healthier. These are just a few of the benefits I have gained due to implementing Block Therapy into my life.

I grew up locally in Plattsburgh, N.Y. and I reside in Willsboro with my husband, Jim, of 25 years. I have taught Special Education since 1994 and as I approach retirement, I have much enthusiasm in sharing my new passion. When I have time off, you’ll find me camping or gardening.

Deanna Hansen is the creator of this practice and who I received my certification from in August of 2023. It is now my turn to share this technique with others in hopes that all find how healing our own bodies in a natural way can be life changing.
